Create your account →What is Verdkan?
Verdkan is a fast, offline friendly flashcard app built on the SM-2 spaced repetition algorithm. You create decks and cards (with images and audio), study them daily, and the algorithm schedules each card at the moment you're about to forget it.
How does spaced repetition work?
Every card tracks repetitions, interval, and ease factor. After each review you rate your recall with Again, Hard, Good, or Easy, and SM-2 recalculates the next review date. Intervals grow from minutes to days to months as a card becomes easier, so you review less and remember more.
Can I generate cards with AI?
Yes. Verdkan can generate flashcards from pasted notes, PDFs, YouTube videos, and web pages. There's also a per card AI tutor for hints and explanations, AI answer grading when you type your response, and a global assistant that can answer questions about your decks.
Which file types can I attach to cards?
Images (PNG, JPEG, WebP), audio (MP3, WAV), and PDFs up to their documented size limits. Files are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage and served through Verdkan; the database stores only file paths, never binaries.
Can I import or export my decks?
Yes. You can export an individual deck or your entire collection to JSON (including schedule and review history) and import it back. Deck sharing and forking are available through Discover.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The free plan covers the core experience: decks, cards, uploads, and reviews, with caps on deck count, cards, uploads, and AI usage. Pro removes those caps and unlocks PDFs, conversation practice, and the knowledge graph.
Is my data private?
Your decks, cards, and review history belong to you. AI features route through a configured provider only when you use them, and uploaded files are served privately through Verdkan rather than public bucket URLs.
